I received this series of questions:

I want to sign my son up for next year’s Henle Latin class with grading.  I have a couple of questions:

I want to sign my son up for next year’s Henle Latin class with grading.  I have a couple of questions:

1.  When do I sign up, I don’t want to pay until the classes start, but I want to hold his place.

2.  With the grading option, if he gets problems wrong and is stuck, can he email and ask questions?

3. How does the grading work, is it all online or is it scanned in the computer?

4.  Does the price include grading for all students?  (I have a friend at CC who wants to do it with 2 of her kids, both graded.)

Thank you!! I am so thankful for this class opportunity and have been advertising where ever I go for it!!  What a blessing!

Here is my reply:

Thanks for the advertising!  I may need to ask you to stop, though.  🙂  I am reaching capacity.

Don’t worry about signing up until August.  Remind me of this email.  I will save a place for you.

Yes.  Students email me all the time with questions.  I spend about 25 hours a week answering emails.  There is also a forum on my site.  Students can interact with each other in the forum.  They often help each other there.

If you sign up for the grading option, your son will email a weekly assignment to me, and I will personally grade his work.  This is time-consuming on my part, and I will likely limit the number of students with this option.  I will save a spot for you either way… whether you join or not.  So, no worries.

There are also automatically graded quizzes on my site that students can use.   I am slowly moving toward these but am still grading personally.

The price is per family, not per student.  I like helping people.  Unlike some other online programs, I don’t have a desire to squeeze families for every last dollar I can get from them.

I see myself as a helpful advisor, not a money extraction machine.

I am likely leaving money on the table.  Maybe a lot of money.

That’s okay.  I can sleep well at night this way.

Let me know if you need more help!

Have a happy Wednesday!
