The Tip of the Week Archives

I’ve been studying languages for over 20 years.  I’ve also traveled widely, raised children, started a business, invested in real estate, cleaned pools, and delivered pizzas.  Along the way, I’ve picked up some tips and tricks.  Sign up for the “Tip of the Week” and, every Saturday, I’ll send a “tip” straight to your inbox.

Of course, if you don’t want another email in your bulging inbox, you can always find the “Tip of the Week” archives right here.

Sadly I am no longer your student, but I always grin when I see your tips in my inbox. It’s quite refreshing from colleges and stores bombarding my email inbox. Thank you for faithfully sending out these emails week after week.

– Lilly

Your emails absolutely are the highlight of my inbox every Saturday! We love your tips and often share them.
– Kim
I just wanted to let you know that I look forward to reading your emails. Your writing is refreshingly light, positive, and helpful in nature. Keep up the good work!
– Diana
Just have to say, I really enjoy your emails! My kids have also greatly benefitted from your Latin lessons. You have helped them ease through 3 years of Latin ( we homeschool and there’s NO WAY I could’ve helped them as much as you have) thank you!!!!
– Cheryl

Thank you for your excellent emails! They are not only fun to read, but remind me to keep my radar tuned in to languages.”

– Lorrie

I really look forward to your weekly tips! They always contain some pearl or nugget of information that’s helpful.Thank you,

– Kari

“I have to say I really enjoy your emails. They are very inspiring! :)”

– Tina

So, I’ve been meaning to hop in here for the longest time and thank you again for keeping us on as members.  During some of the darkest times, your emails have been uplifting and reminded me that love, and light, and goodness still prevails.
– Lydia
It seems to me you already have another book in your collection of tips and tricks weekly email letters and blog notes.. I put them in a folder because I think they are priceless. Just put them together and you have a best seller. You have one of the most readable writing styles I ever run across and that I read.
                                                                                                                          – Mike
I appreciate your teaching and your emails more than you will ever know!  Thank you!!
– Lynn
Dwane,  you are the only blog/email that I scroll through my promotions to find and then forward to my inbox so I will read. Last week your email made me $945 after I signed up for the credit card that trip of a lifestyle recommended for churning.  I’m all over their blog now and love it. I don’t read a lot of blogs either… I’m a busy homeschool mom getting my masters of classical studies through classical conversations. I appreciate all you do to help my kids learn. My 14 year old is on her 2nd year with your Latin subscription and my younger son loves  Word up!  Thank you for being such an great support for us!!!
– Stacey

If you are learning Latin, I have written a book with all of my best tips and strategies.  It’s available as a free download here: https://dwanethomas.com/downloads/via-latin-lost/

If you are interested in learning Latin, you can go through the classes on my site 24/7.  I recommend the book Lingua Latina by Hans Ørberg.  If you tackle the book and find yourself bogged down, you may find the classes on my site helpful.  To join, just click here: https://dwanethomas.com/join/.  People really like the classes.  But, don’t take my word for it.  See what they are saying right here: https://dwanethomas.com/testimonials/.

If you want a more professionally filmed experience, check out the best-selling DVD series: Visual Latin.  Or, if you want to skip Latin, and just jump right into learning English words from Latin and Greek roots, you may enjoy the series Word up!  Warning.   Word up! is a bit wacky.  You will learn a lot… but, you may find yourself rolling your eyes, too.

Okay.  On to the ‘tip of the week’ archives.
