Tip of the Week #340: Hang on to Your Good Ideas
Good ideas often pop into my head at the worst possible times. They rarely show up when I’m sitting at my desk. They come while I’m walking, driving, or biking… when I can’t write them down.
When that happens, I use the voice note app on my phone to capture the thought right away. I pull over, stop my bike, or pause at a red light and dictate a quick note into my phone.
I dictate the note into Scrivener, which I have used for years.
Later, I can transfer the idea into a journal or into my computer, but the important part is that the idea isn’t lost.
Give it a shot. If you find yourself losing good ideas because you do not write them down, dictate them into a notes app on your phone.

Want one practical tip each week?
Almost every Saturday, I send out a short “Tip of the Week”—something I’ve learned that can make life (or language learning) a little easier.
You can sign up here: https://dwanethomas.com/. Just scroll to the bottom of the page and look for my book: Via.
When you do, I’ll also send you a free digital copy of my book on learning Latin (and almost anything else).
Prefer to support the work directly?
You can grab the book here (think of it as buying me a cup of coffee):

A couple extra resources I recommend:
- Visual Latin (professionally filmed video course)
- Word Up! (English words from Latin and Greek roots. Effective… but slightly wacky)
Quick note:
Some links may be affiliate links. I only recommend what I personally use and believe in. Those commissions help me keep classes and resources affordable (and often free).
