LEGO Tip of the Week: Build by the Book… or Break the Rules
When building a new LEGO set, you don’t always have to stick to the script.
Some builders follow the instructions exactly, piece by piece. Others follow the instructions too — but swap in random colors from their collection.
The result? A perfectly built set with a wild, one-of-a-kind look. It’s a fun way to add creativity while still enjoying the satisfaction of completing the model.
Next time you build, try it out: stick to the design, but go crazy with the colors.
I am currently building the Colosseum… and, holy cow, it is taking a long time.
Today, my son sent me a picture of this. The colosseum built from random pieces!

Miss a Tip of the Week?
I’ve been collecting all the LEGO Tips of the Week in one place!
Since our official website (https://bricksandminifigs.com/vestaviahills-al/) doesn’t allow a blog, I’m keeping a growing archive of tips here instead:
Whether you’re a lifelong LEGO fan or just getting started, you’ll find simple, practical advice for building, storing, cleaning, and getting more out of your bricks.
And, if you have any tips to share, just reply to this email and I may add them in an upcoming LEGO tip of the week!
Cleaning out the Attic?
At Bricks and Minifigs – Vestavia Hills, we pay cash or store credit for your loose LEGO. But here’s the deal:
We can’t offer much for dirty or sticky bricks.
If you clean them before bringing them in, you’ll help us—and help yourself by getting a better offer!
Hope you all have a happy Saturday! 😊
Happy building!
