One of my former students wants to learn French. He asked for my advice.
Here it is:
Whenever starting a new language, I always start with the free, and excellent DuoLingo. My 14-year-old daughter started tinkering around with their French course while we were in Greece. That was about two months ago. She can now carry on a simple conversation in French. It’s pretty impressive.
To get the grammar down, I would recommend also the excellent (and also free) podcast Coffee Break French.
I would start with these two, and I would delay paying any money to learn this language. Use the free material to find out if you are serious or not. There is plenty out there for free if you want to learn a modern language.
Let me know if you need more help!
Have a happy Thursday!
