After sending an email last Saturday, many of you wrote to wish me luck opening a new store. I received this note from Erik:
Mr. Dwane,
Just wanted to quickly thank you for all the great tips throughout all these years, and wish you all the best with the opening of store. Hope it goes smoothly! And tell us how it went in your next email haha.
Best regards,
Erik
Happy to say, all went well. It was stressful, but it was eustress. (If you are not familiar with that term, eustress is good stress. Eu, in Greek, means good. Dis, in Greek, means bad. Distress = bad stress. Eustress = good stress.)
Anyway, since I opened a store that sells Lego, this tip is a Lego tip.
If you have piles of random Lego in your house (as many of us do) you may be able to create something new with them.
Rebrickable is a site dedicated to rebuilding with used Lego sets. There are thousands of instructions available, created not by the Lego company, but by everyday Lego fans. Some instructions are available for sale, but many are free.
Check out this page to find lots of free instructions. Using the instructions you find on Rebrickable, perhaps you will be able to breathe new life into old Lego sets.
By the way, if you are in Birmingham, Alabama, stop by Birmingham’s newest (and only) Lego store, Bricks&MiniFigs: Vestavia Hills. If you want to say Hi! (or, Salve!), I am there most Fridays and Saturdays.
The address is 1056, Montgomery Hwy, Vestavia Hills, Alabama.

Almost every Saturday, I send out a Tip of the Week. The tip of the week is usually something I have picked up along the way that may make your life a little easier.
If you would like to hear from me (almost) every Saturday, just go to the home page of my site and plug in your name and email. You will also get a free digital copy of my book on learning Latin (and almost anything else). Just go here: https://dwanethomas.com/ and enter your name and email.
If you want to buy the digital book instead (because you just feel like buying me a cup of coffee) go here: https://dwanethomas.gumroad.com/l/fzixlh
If you are interested in learning Latin, you can go through the classes on my site 24/7. I recommend the book Lingua Latina by Hans Ørberg. If you tackle the book and find yourself bogged down, you may find the classes on my site helpful. To join, just click here: https://dwanethomas.com/join/
If you want a more professionally filmed Latin learning experience, check out the best-selling DVD series: Visual Latin.
Or, if you want to skip Latin, and just jump right into learning English words from Latin and Greek roots, you may enjoy the series Word Up! Warning. Word Up! is a bit wacky. You will learn a lot… but, you may find yourself rolling your eyes, too.
I teach other languages on my site, too. The current schedule is here: https://dwanethomas.com/schedule/
