I received this question:
My son is in Challenge 1 with Classical Conversations. Would he be ready for Latin 3 live class?
Here is my reply:
It depends. I am not entirely familiar with the breakdown Classical Conversations uses, but here is how I break it all down. In Latin 1, we read all of First Year Latin by Robert Henle. In Latin 2, we read as much of Second Year Latin as we are able. In Latin 3, we read as much as we can of Third Year Latin.
I am not sure, but I think challenge one focuses on First Year Latin. If that is the case, Third Year Latin (basically the writings of Marcus Cicero) would be way too much.
Of course, on my site, students can join the live classes or can move at their own pace. I record every class I teach, and I only take them down if I am updating them. I have quite a few students who use the previous classes only. In fact, many prefer this as they can move at their own rate. Students are always welcome to contact me if they have any questions.
