Tip of the Week #313: Wordle
Pretty sure I am late to this party, but if you have not heard of it, Wordle is fun.
Wordle is an online word game. Players get six attempts to guess a five-letter word. Every day, there is only one solution. The entire world attmpts to guess the same word.
You can share your results with each other without giving away the solution. For example, my mom and sister challenged me today, and beat me soundly. I never figured out today’s word.
If you haven’t tried it, give Wordle a shot.
And, then, let me know what the word is so I can impress my mom and annoy my sister.

After sending this email, I received the following emails. Some of them surprised me. I didn’t know, for example, Wordle existed in other languages!

Hey Dwane!
Francesca and Dana told me about a Latin version of Wordle!

Angie tried to get me to take on another addicting word game:
Welcome to world of Wordle. Better late than never! Once you’ve had some fun with that, try Quordle. With Quordle you are guessing four 5-letter words in nine attempts. I recently played my 650th game. One game per day makes for a relaxing, not-too-long puzzle break at the end of the day.
Also, thank you for sharing your book on goal-setting! Good stuff.
Blessings,
– Angie
Melissa send a great Wordle tip
Thanks for your emails! I enjoy reading your tips. I think the trick to wordle is good beginning words with a variety of vowels. My favorites to start with are usually acorn, eight & ducks. 😁

Almost every Saturday, I send out a Tip of the Week. The tip of the week is usually something I have picked up along the way that may make your life a little easier.
If you would like to hear from me (almost) every Saturday, just go to the home page of my site and plug in your name and email. You will also get a free digital copy of my book on learning Latin (and almost anything else). Just go here: https://dwanethomas.com/ and enter your name and email.
If you want to buy the digital book instead (because you just feel like buying me a cup of coffee) go here: https://dwanethomas.gumroad.com/l/fzixlh
If you are interested in learning Latin, you can go through the classes on my site 24/7. I recommend the book Lingua Latina by Hans Ørberg.
If you tackle the book and find yourself bogged down, you may find the classes on my site helpful. To join, just click here: https://dwanethomas.com/join/
If you want a more professionally filmed Latin learning experience, check out the best-selling DVD series: Visual Latin.
Or, if you want to skip Latin, and just jump right into learning English words from Latin and Greek roots, you may enjoy the series Word Up! Warning. Word Up! is a bit wacky. You will learn a lot… but, you may find yourself rolling your eyes, too.
I teach other languages on my site, too. The current schedule is here: https://dwanethomas.com/schedule/
