Tip of the Week #326: Practice Over Passion

Loving something—like learning a language—is a great start.  But passion and talent will only take you so far.

The real progress comes when you show up consistently, even on the hard days.

This is why I structure my classes the way I do.
We meet 30 minutes a day, four or five days a week. Because consistency is better than intensity. A little every day beats a lot once in a while.

Practice is the path. Discipline is the key.

When it comes to learning a language, I remind my students often, stick with it.  Daily effort matters more than talent.
