What the French Revolution Taught Me About Politics

In French class, we just finished reading about the French Revolution and the rise and fall of Napoleon.

It struck me, while reading these stories, that people spent much of their time grasping for power—only to end up dead.

Here’s my tip this week: Don’t become obsessed with politics.

The emotional damage will eventually take a physical toll. It’s not worth it.

Instead, pour your time and energy into building something that lasts: learn a new skill, create something meaningful, or volunteer somewhere.

Forget politics. The politicians don’t care about you anyway—believe me, I’ve lived long enough to know.

Do something better with your time.
