I received this question:

Hi there! My Kiddos (grades 4 & 6) will be starting Visual Latin I (with Lingua Latina) this August and will continue with Visual Latin II. I wonder if you could point me in the direction of where to go once Visual Latin II is completed? I would like for them to continue on with Latin. Your recommendation is appreciated. Thank you!

Here is my reply:

Good morning!

I apologize for the long delay.  Finally catching up this morning…

After Visual Latin, I always recommend students read Lingua Latina by Hans Ørberg.  It’s a tough book, but it is also the best, hands down.  Unlike most Latin books, which tend to be incredibly boring, Lingua Latina is actually a novel, written completely in Latin.  It is challenging but also entertaining.  Often the story itself will drag students through the work.

If you get completely stuck, I also teach the book every year online on my website: https://dwanethomas.com/

Let me know if you need more help!

Have a happy Monday!
