After a long day, or night, or both… I am not sure what day it is, my family and I have arrived safely in Athens.

As I said in a previous post, I am back over here to study Greek.  I have not used it much yet.

I was able to use other languages I have studied, though.

Today, one of my kids left a passport on an airplane in Madrid.  Using every bit of Spanish I have ever learned, we were able to recover the passport.

Later, a German man who had never visited Athens asked for help.  I guess he thought I looked German.  I don’t think I do.  Not tall enough.  Anyway, since he spoke no English, I was able to help him find his destination and was able to practice German, as well.

So, far, I have not been able to practice Greek.  The Greeks hear my attempts and immediately switch to English.  This is one of the greatest challenges to me here, but no matter.  I am determined to learn Greek, so I will keep trying.

Anyway, I don’t know what time it is and have not slept in a while, so goodnight.  Well, maybe.  My daughters are running on little sleep as well and, as a result, they are slap happy.  In fact, I am hearing a lot of statements that end in “No big deal”.  Evidently, this is Jimmy Fallon’s fault.
