Anomalous is the adjective form of anomaly.

Anomalous comes from the Greek words ἀν (an), meaning “not” and ὁμός (homos) meaning “same”. 

Synonyms include atypical, divergent, peculiar, and bizarre.

Spring tornadoes in the southern United States, for example, are not anomalous occurrences.
