Destinesia: to reach your destination only to forget why you were going there in the first place.

Destinesia is a portmanteau word.  It is a combination of destination and amnesia.

Amnesia, in case you have forgotten, is a word meaning forgetfulness.

I’ve been experiencing destinesia lately.  More than I care to think about.  Sometimes, I will walk into the garage and ask myself, “Wait.  Why did I come in here?”

Several times in my life I have experienced career destinesia.  After several years of doing something, I will stop and ask myself, “Why did I start doing this?”
